When you visit the Pawnee Republican, the Humboldt Standard, or the last digs of the Table Rock Argus at the Argus Newspaper Museum in Table Rock, think of the many years of weekly issues. The Republican has been doing it steadily since 1867 and is the oldest continuously operated weekly newspaper in Nebraska. That is over 8,000 issues. The Standard has been putting out issues weekly since 1875 and is one of the oldest Nebraska weeklies after the Republican. The Argus lived from 1882 to 1976, and, floundering after the death of editor Rudy Senft, was bought by the Republican.
