Sen. Julie Slama will start her next session in the Legislature in January after winning reelection in the Nov. 3 General Election. She bested challenger Janet Palmtag of Nebraska City. In fact, Otoe County was the only county carried by Palmtag.
Slama, as you probably know, was appointed to the seat by Gov. Ricketts to fill a vacancy. This was her first try at being duly elected.
