  • This year a 100-year Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award was presented to Dorothy Bstandig. Five generations of the Bstandig family have owned the SE ¼ of Section 10-2-10 since 1905. The farm was purchased for about $49/acre by Larry Bstandig’s great-great-grandfather, Frank J. Wenzl, who emigrated here from Austria in 1867.

  • A 150-year Nebraska Heritage Farm Award was presented to Jeff and Tammy McClintock this year. The McClintock family has owned 48 acres northeast of Pawnee City since 1856, when Jeff’s great-great-grandfather, William McClintock, acquired the ground.
