Pawnee City High School track repair almost done

By Ray Kappel

Unless the marking of the Pawnee City High School track becomes delayed, the public should be able to use the track within a month, according to Pawnee City High School Superintendent Brian Rottinghaus.

The track will not be red; it will be black. The School Board would have had to spend an additional $69,000 to make it red. The total cost of the project is $142,000. That includes the cost of removing and disposing of the old rubber surface, making any repairs necessary to the asphalt surface, putting down the new rubber surface, and marking the new running lanes. The school board received four bids for the repair of the track and this was the lowest bid.
